Privacy Policy

Effective June 11, 2026 · Last updated June 11, 2026

The short version: the Pigment extension makes zero network calls. Your browsing history, the sites you visit, and your theme preferences never leave your device. There is no account, no analytics, and no telemetry of any kind.

The extension

Pigment computes every re-theming operation locally, inside your browser. It does not send or receive any data over the network — you can verify this in the browser's network inspector, and in the source code (the engine is open source).

The extension stores the following on your device only, using the browser's local extension storage:

ItemPurpose
Selected themeRemember your choice
On/off stateThe popup's enable toggle
Per-site pause listSites where you paused Pigment
Image handling modeSmart / Preserve / Invert all
License key (Pro)Unlock verification — checked locally, never transmitted

None of this is transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the extension deletes it all.

Pro purchases

If you buy Pigment Pro, the checkout is operated by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record — they process your payment details under their privacy policy; we never see your card number.

To deliver your license, our issuing service receives your email address and order ID from Lemon Squeezy. We use them solely to generate your license key (which embeds your email) and deliver it — on the order success page and by email. The order-to-key record is kept for 90 days so you can re-open the success page, then deleted automatically. We don't use your email for marketing, and we don't share it with anyone.

Activating a license happens entirely on your device — the extension verifies the key's cryptographic signature locally and never contacts a server to do so.

This website

pigment.app is a static site with no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking scripts. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and requested URL) to operate the service, as any host does.

The Safari app (when available)

The Safari version will follow the same rules, with two Apple-mediated additions: purchases go through Apple's App Store (Apple's privacy policy applies), and optional iCloud sync of your preferences happens between your own devices via your iCloud account — that data never touches our infrastructure. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

The planned "Report this site" feature composes an email in your own mail app — sending it is entirely your choice, and it goes to us as ordinary email, not through any tracking system.

Changes & contact

If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it, and the history is visible in the public repository. Questions: hello@pigment.app.
